Description
48"x60" | Acrylic on Canvas | The inspiration for this piece came from my experience as an HBCU graduate of Morehouse College and my experience at Super Bowl LI in Houston, TX. My experience at Morehouse College shaped me into the man I am today and it is a time period that will live with me forever and I will always be grateful for what that institution taught me. Normally HBCUs are not known for their athletic success and it was on February 5, 2017, at the Super Bowl that I learned about all of the NFL Hall of Famers that came from HBCUs. Before the game started the NFL did a segment, specifically HOFs, that played for HBCU's. Players like Jerry Rice, Shannon Sharpe, Michael Strahan, and no others walked out with their gold jackets on. For me to witness that moment coming from an HBCU was very inspiring, and is what led me to create this amazing unique painting. This is a painting that you will not find anywhere else and will be cemented forever in NFL & HBCU history.
