Our 19th annual After d’Arc Gala will focus its Fund the Need campaign on raising money to support purchasing a new home for our Community Living (residential) program. This program empowers people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to have accessible and affordable housing, providing them with the personalized support of Direct Support Professionals to help them in being as independent as possible.

Currently there are 101 people supported by this program, but we have 10 people on our waiting list who are in need of this service, and that number is growing. Outside of the cost of a house, there are many considerations in purchasing one that is well suited for our services, and the current housing market has good options going fast. Every dollar matters, and to see the specific impact you can have in our Fund the Need Campaign, here are examples of how your contribution can support this campaign. 

• $5,000 - Contributing toward the down payment or purchase of a home
• $2,500 - Funding for accessible accommodations, such as a wheelchair ramp
• $1,500 - Funding for major appliances, such as a hot water heater
• $1,000 - Funding for 2-3 roll-in shower chairs
• $500 - Funding for a home inspection
• $250 - Funding for a home maintenance kit
• $100 - Funding to purchase grab bars for bathroom showers
• $50 - Funding for adaptive utensils and kitchen tools
