Ana Buzzalino - Shades of the past

This item has already been SOLD!

Description

The old wooden grain elevators of Alberta caught my imagination and my heart a long time ago. In the current climate where everything is new, instant and shiny, history has relevance; old buildings have a soul that modern buildings do not possess. They tell a story. I find myself returning to those old elevators to study the marks of passing time. Structures with weathered wood, peeling paint, rusted metal.
I used diluted India ink through a cola pen and Paintstiks for the background, screen printing for the bottom part, and a photo of one of Alberta's grain elevators manipulated in Vista.
