Description
Since Antiquity and the Middle Ages, the seven liberal arts have been regarded as the seven gates. In Renaissance, Giorgio Vasari (1511-1574), an Italian painter, wrote a book Lives concerning the biographies of his contemporary artists, including new terms refining the procedure and qualifications of creation. My work shows six of them: In the middle gate ART (aptitude, hability, talent) DISEGNO (design), NATURA (improve in nature), GRAZIA (grace, perfect work of art), DECORO (suitability of a work), IUDIZIO, (painter's judgement), MANIERA, (style or manner).
