Description
I'm fascinated by pelicans. They are so awkward-looking on land but in flight, and especially when fishing, they are masters of precision. They are such a common sight at the beach, but I've never seen a piece of art showing their flying and fishing prowess. I chose a windy day for this piece to enhance the feeling of motion ... of the surf, the palm tree fronds, and the pelicans. I made it a misty day to add to the mysteriousness of the pelicans' flight.
This piece of fiber art is raw edge applique adhered to a 3/4' thick stained pine board, wired for hanging.
