Welcome to the 2020 Hearts & Homes Virtual Gala Event! We are excited to announce that both our gala and silent auction will be going mobile this year. Hearts & Homes will be using Handbid, a mobile auction/virtual event platform which allows you to participate and bid through your smartphone. Please see below to learn how to get involved!

Live Stream, 10/15

Please participate in our virtual gala event by checking back here on October 15th @ 7PM. The Live Stream for our virtual event will be broadcasted via YouTube and available at this Handbid URL (also can be viewed on the Handbid app).  You may also visit and subscribe to our ‘Hearts & Homes for Youth’ YouTube Channel and/or access the stream directly with the following link: https://youtu.be/9amEOFyRAXA. This may be ideal for displaying the gala on a smart TV or desktop/laptop monitor for you and your guests. Handbid App, Silent Auction Instructions

The Silent Auction will go live on Handbid on Monday, October 12th @ 9AM and will be open until after the event- we will be closing the Silent Auction at 11PM the evening of the event (10/15). To participate in the Silent Auction, it is recommended that you download the Handbid app on your smartphone. Below are instructions to do so along with some additional Handbid tips/features:

1. DOWNLOAD THE HANDBID APP

- If you have an iPhone or Android, you can download the Handbid app from the Apple iTunes App Store or the Google Play store. Please note we strongly recommend you “Accept notifications from this app” when you open it and join an auction. This will allow you to get push notifications for  “Outbid” messages during the auction.

2. TAP GET STARTED & CREATE ACCT

- Next, you can create an account. From the App home screen, tap on “GET STARTED” button and complete the information (please use your cell phone as the phone number). Tap NEXT. Handbid will then text you a 5 digit code. Enter this code to log in.

3. SELECT AUCTION FROM LIST & START BIDDING

- Search/Select 'Hearts & Homes for Youth Virtual Charity Gala' from the list of auctions and swipe left to enter the auction. Once in the auction, swipe left/right to access categories and up/down to access items. Whether you are bidding online or in the Handbid App, here are some easy tips to help:

• * MAX BID:  This is the max you are willing to spend for an item and Handbid system will automatically bid for you until you reach your max. Set a max bid, kick back, and enjoy your evening!

• * NOTIFICATIONS: If you have downloaded the Handbid App and accepted push notifications, you will be notified by push notifications when you are outbid on an item. If you don’t have the app you will receive text messages from Handbid.

• * DASHBOARD: Monitor what you are currently winning and losing on the Dashboard screen in your app or online. 

- No smartphone? No problem. You will be able to access the auction through a web browser at URL:https://events.handbid.com/.
