About CITC: Since December 2014, CITC has harnessed the power of soccer to promote health, education and leadership development and create safe community spaces, where programming is free of charge. CITC received several recognitions in 2017 including the Major League Soccer (MLS) Community Team of the Year, and were finalists for the ESPN Humanitarian Team of the Year. In 2018, CITC were runners up for the Robert Wood Johnson Sports Foundation Award for Professional Sports Team of the Year. An independent study found that 69% of 11-19-year old’s felt the CITC programs “definitely” helped them stay in school or college, and 52% of older respondents in East Harlem said attending the program helped them reduce or prevent involvement in crime. $4.50 is the total return on investment in health benefits for every $1.00 spent on CITC programming. Programming includes:
· Reducing crime and youth violence for over 300 kids with our Saturday Night Lights programs
· Providing a healthy lifestyle curriculum used in 14 New York City public schools through the Healthy Hat Trick series
· Training teens and young adults to become coaches and professionals through a Youth Leadership Council partnering with U.S. Soccer Foundation, adidas, The Mayors Fund and Etihad to help build 50 new mini-pitches across New York City within 5 years; 20 pitches are in use today with more to come online this year.
CITC - a 501 (c)(3) charity foundation - uses the power of soccer to promote health, education and leadership development and create safe community spaces, where programming is free of charge for more than 4,000 young people each week. Funds raised during this auction will benefit programs that take place on NYCSI pitches.
All winning bids are classified as donations to City in the Community Foundation (CITC) Tax ID: 47-2573763
