About Firerondack Chairs:
Firerondack Chairs was started by Tom Ryan and Dave Ward after they found an opportunity to design and build a better adirondack style chair. The inexpensive/plastic chairs kept breaking. Sitting on broken chairs around a fire pit, chatting and sharing stories, did not “sit well”!
The idea to repurpose otherwise unusable firehose was one that resonated with their passion for volunteer firefighting and DIY personalities. After several discussions, pen to paper, a gift card to Home Depot from one of their kids to put their talk into action, TD Stubbs was on it’s way to building their first prototype chair in 2013.
The process starts with hand-picked, uncut, treated lumber. “Retired” firehose is carefully washed and custom cut for sizing needs. Each piece of the chair is individually sanded and hand-stained. After assembly, small details are added per customer request. Customization such as hose color, option of logo and inclusion of a name(s), are offered to make each chair more meaningful to it’s owner.
T.D. Stubbs offers a growing line of Firerondack pieces including regular adirondack style chairs, rocking chairs, bar height chairs, a table, benches and an ottoman.
