Online Silent Auction Rules

Catholic Charities, DOSP is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. The fair market value or estimated fair market value will be provided for each auction item. IRS rules permit a charitable contribution for the amount paid in excess of fair market value. Only that part of the payment made with the intention of making a gift and for which the taxpayer receives no consideration qualifies as a contribution. Therefore, any amount you pay above the Fair Market value estimate may be tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. Consult your tax advisor for specific information.

Bidding: Each auction item has a description of the item, market value, minimum-starting bid, and bidding increment. Minimum bids and increments must be followed. Enter your bid by selecting the > to the right of the amount. The highest bid at the close of the auction will constitute the winning bid and the winner will be notified. In the event of a dispute, the winning bid will be determined by the auction chair.

Payment: Winners will receive a notice they have won with a link to the invoice. Payment can then be made online via credit card. Payments by cash or check may be requested on the invoice and coordinated through our office at the number below. Checks should be made payable to Catholic Charities with FOL Auction in the memo line and can be mailed to the address below. Once payment is made/received, delivery arrangements can be made with us at 813-631-4393 or email lramos@ccdosp.org. All sales are final, and no refunds or exchanges will be made.

Restrictions: Each auction item is “as is” and does not include any warranty. Please note carefully the restrictions with some service items. Some may require advance reservations. Values assigned to each item are estimates only. Items are not guaranteed by Catholic Charities.

Winners of drawing or other prizes: When an individual wins a drawing or other prize that has a fair market value of $600 or higher, Catholic Charities must report these winnings to the winner and the IRS on a Form 1099 Miscellaneous. In order to claim your prize, a prize claim receipt must be completed with your name, address and social security number.
