The UGME Class of 2026 and the Graduate Students are excited to invite you to the 47th annual Monte Carlo Charity Gala. Take a trip back in time with us to Old Holywood! Since the tradition began in 1977, Monte Carlo has supported over one hundred local charities across Newfoundland and Labrador. The event has come to stand for the social accountability and community engagement that we as medical students strive to represent.

Over 44 charity applications were reviewed and voted upon this year by our charity selection committee. It was very humbling to read about the vital work many organizations are doing for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. Our four amazing 2023 recipients are: Iris Kirby House, Nevaeh’s Angel Foundation, Association for New Canadians, and Choices for Youth.

Our committee, composed of 27 students, has spent the last year planning what we hope will be a memorable night. We are excited to share the event with you as we continue this 47-year-old tradition. Please see some important details below before purchasing your ticket!

During the gala, it is our pleasure to offer you:

Live music courtesy of the Class of 2026 Jazz Band
Food and drinks, including a specialty bar presented by Quidi Vidi Brewery with all funds supporting our fundraising.
A live dance, as per tradition, from the Classes of 2026 and 2027
Blackjack, Texas Hold ‘em, and Roulette, as well as raffles and a 50/50
A silent auction ongoing throughout the night, with live auction hosted by Blair Loveless
Live music from the renowned band Bic and the Ballpoints to finish the night!

You will have the opportunity to participate in:

Live and silent auctions with prizes including a painting by Clifford George, white water rafting, themed wine tasting from Tastings NL, moose hair tufting, and LASIK eye surgery
A wide selection of ticket raffles - stay tuned for more information!
