Ms. Kilbourne was a native of Clinton, Louisiana and the daughter of Richard H. and Nan D. Kilbourne. She died in 2012. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from Louisiana Tech University in 1972 and her Masters of Fine Arts degree from Louisiana State University in 1974. She received further instruction at the New York Studio School in 1979. She primarily worked with oils, acrylics and pastels. She often signed her many pieces using her middle name, Dennard; but, also used her initials NK.
