Description
Andrew Sanders, former fire and policeman, has found his heart in bringing beauty from reclaimed wood. When approached about creating a strong piece to represent both the past roots and strength of the Billings Gazette to its city, Andrew reached back into his own past to bring about a spectacular centerpiece.
Serving as both an art piece with its weathered, rustic look recalling the history of Montana, the piece is also utilitarian in bringing light into the darkness as a unique lighting centerpiece. Not just any length of wood would do.
This piece represents Andrew's history, as this particular timber hails from the Gilt Edge Ranch, prominent in central Montana, where Andrew's grandfather lived and worked. Not only of historical value because of its importance in gold mining, then and now, the Gilt Edge Ranch also played host to Calamity Jane, whom may have even leaned against this very piece of wood during her stay.
Andrew also includes the opportunity for the successful bidder to have the piece made to their own specifications for candle holder size or use. Its current size is 7.5' in length.
