Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Appeal Details:
This year’s “appeal” proceeds will fund in-class and hands-on STEM opportunities for PK3-5th graders next year. Donated funds will be used to purchase STEM classroom materials designed to inspire creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. Materials have been carefully selected to provide engaging learning experiences for all grade levels. Materials will be hands-on, play-based focused on building, tinkering and creating, such as:
• Library/STEAM lab: Five Kindles, Five Ozobots (beginning code, app-connected robots), another 3D-printer, STEM table organizer, and a set of 3D Magic Pens for the STEAM opportunities provided by Ms. Anderson, Shepherd’s Library and Media Specialist.
• Classroom manipulatives for Early Childhood Education and Kindergarten: light tables, magnifying glasses, design + build engineering centers, magnetic tiles, marble run sets, binocular sets, and “create-a-chain-reaction” kits.
• Experiential STEAM-related in-school or off site fi eld trips for grades 1-5.
