This museum is home to an extraordinary collection of more than 4,000 works, ranging from masterpieces of French impressionism (Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s Luncheon of the Boating Party), American modernism (Georgia O’Keeffe’s Red Hills, Lake George), and contemporary art (the Mark Rothko Room). Visitors can also see Jacob Lawrence’s impressive piece The Migration Series which depicts the movement of African Americans from the rural South to the industrial North beginning in World War I.
