Shepherd Elementary School PTA's biggest fundraiser of the year – the 15th Annual Spring Gala and Auction – will be held on May 4th, 2019, at The Atrium at Bobby Van’s Grill in Washington, DC. This year's event will honor Shepherd's teachers and staff, and will feature live entertainment, cocktails, heavy hors d'oeuvres. Additionally, this event draws local celebrities and political officials, as well as a diverse group of individuals who reside in our “corner” of the District.

Our main event for the evening will be our silent and live auction, which will feature a variety of items such as class projects, themed baskets, and donated items from local businesses! We hope to raise over $40,000 this year to support Shepherd's academic and enrichment programs, which will ensure that Shepherd has sufficient resources to remain one of the finest DC public schools serving PK3 to 5th grade students.

Shepherd Elementary School has just entered its 9th decade of providing quality public education to the diverse population of elementary students in the Shepherd Park and Colonial Village neighborhoods of Washington, DC. It is one of the few DC public schools to have achieved accreditation for its International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program for students aged 3 to 12. Shepherd is consistently recognized as one of the outstanding elementary schools within the DCPS, with a GreatSchools.org rating of 9 out of 10. Shepherd’s dedicated staff strives to develop inquisitive, international-minded learners who think globally and act compassionately.
