Andrea Kulmhofer-Bommer - INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER
Description
Before starting to work at the federal institute BIFIE in Salzburg (Austria), Andrea Kulmhofer-Bommer, a trained foreign language teacher, worked at the Department of School Education/Teacher Education, Karl-Franzens-University Graz and as a classroom teacher. She got her Orton-Gillingham Basic Trainer degree in 2011 from the Reading Center in Rochester, MN and has since then been interested in further learning about and investigating how to best teacher foreign language learners with learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Currently she is involved in developing diagnostic tests as well as large scale assessments for Austrian EFL students. Andrea does research in didactics, language education and teacher education. Her PhD project investigated the fidelity of implementation of a reading program for 3rd grade elementary school students in Austria. Currently, she works on a project investigating the cognitive processes involved in solving reading test items.
