About the Virginia Quilt Museum

Mission: Cultivate and preserve the quilting arts in Virginia.

Vision: The museum’s goal is to inspire and engage a diverse community by building and preserving  quilt collections, sharing historical and contemporary exhibits, and providing educational opportunities for all ages.

The Virginia Quilt Museum opened in 1995 with a collection of 14 quilts. Since then we have grown to a collection of almost 400 quilts and are on pace to welcome 6,000 visitors in 2022. With a mission to preserve and cultivate the quilting arts in Virginia, we focus on caring for our collection, rotating exhibitions, and presenting educational programs. Exhibitions include selections from the museum’s collection and works by contemporary quilters, from art quilts to traditionally made pieces. Programs focus on the history of quilting as well as teaching quilting and other fiber art techniques at all skill levels.

Winners will be able to pick up their quilts between November 11 and November 22. Quilts can also be shipped to winners. Winners will be responsible for shipping costs, the Virginia Quilt Museum will invoice winners for shipping separately.
