Doug Williams, former Redskins quarterback, was named the Super Bowl MVP, Super Bowl XXII, for his performance against the Broncos. Williams passed 340 yards and four touchdowns in the second quarter, becoming a single-quarter record. Mark Rypien, former Redskins quarterback, was drafted during the sixth round in the 1986 NFL draft. Rypien was also awarded Super Bowl MVP during Super Bowl XXVI. Rypien is the first Canadian-born quarterback to start in the NFL and win MVP. Joe Theismann, also a former Redskins quarterback, was a two-time Pro Bowler. Theismann got the Redskins to two consecutive Super Bowls, Super Bowl XVII and Super Bowl XVIII, winning Super Bowl XVII. Theismann was named NFL MVP in 1983 by four different organizations and earned the Player of the Game Award in his second Pro Bowl appearance.
