Want to help Team MadMax make a difference? Join Madison and Max Bennett at the 2020 Steps to Independence Walk & 5K Celebration! We are challenging ourselves to raise $5,000 towards the $200,000 all combined team goal for individuals in the Kentuckiana area with Down syndrome!
Let’s Talk about what DSL means to the Bennett Family.
Madison is 20 Years old and Max is 12 Years old. Both were born with Down Syndrome and these two loving siblings have unique stories. Madison was born when we lived in Lexington and although there was a support system in Lexington it did not equal the Support of DSL when we moved to Louisville. When Madison was born, no organization met our family in the hospital. We were given the worst case scenario for having a baby with Down Syndrome and truly didn’t know her complete diagnosis until she was 6 months old. We moved to Louisville when she was 1 and were amazed at The services DSL provided at that time as we met other families for the first time. When Max was born, DSL met us in the hospital. Like Madison we did t know he would have DS until he was born.
They both have different needs, Strengths, and weaknesses and DSL has been there from the time we moved to Louisville and continues to be there for Madison, Max, and many others for their lifetime. DSL also helps the family of those with DS learn about next steps and even has a Career Solutions team to help coach those with DS in the workplace. Please take a moment, join our walk team, and give your support of either Time or $$ if you feel led to do so. If Madison and Max have impacted your life In some way, DSL was a influence in their development along with many close friends and family members! Go Team MadMax!.
Will you help me support them?
