Description
Dimensions: 16.5x12.5”
Medium: Mixed media (pen and ink, posca pen)
Artist Statement: Having recently moved to the mountains of Colorado from the islands of the Bahamas, I've been taking my time getting inspired by the natural world of the Rockies. My work has always been a way of bringing our attention to the often overlooked details that surround us, a reminder to preserve this delicate balance.
Intrigued by organic patterns, I was struck by the textures found in the trunks of the cottonwood trees, themselves playing an important part in sustainability through helping maintain the health of the Yampa river ecosystem.
By presenting these fine details, I hope to highlight the efforts of YVSC in these specific environments.
