Foster Arizona was established in 2013 by foster/adoptive mom and creative, Kimberly Vehon, in response to the increasing number of children needing homes in Arizona. Between March of 2010 and April of 2013 the number of kids in care increased a staggering 40 percent and continues to be on the rise. At the same time, foster and adoptive homes have not kept up with the need leaving many kids, including young babies and children, to be cared for in group homes and shelters. Foster Arizona is a non-profit public charity focused on educating, encouraging, and empowering Arizonans to get involved in Arizona’s foster care crisis. Our mission is to, through awareness, see an increase in children in Arizona’s foster care system cared for in an in-home setting with parental figures approved to foster and/or adopt. We believe that every child deserves to be loved and cared for in a family setting. We believe that ordinary people can foster hope and change a life. And, we believe that knowledge is the key to making both a reality. Learn more today about how you can make a difference.
