As a Children's Advocacy Center, the CARE House of the Pee Dee's mission is to promote help, hope and healing to child abuse victims and their families in a nurturing environment through supportive services and prevention. To this end, the CARE House offers a child-friendly environment where children and families can

access quality services following reports of abuse. Our comprehensive approach includes both investigative and healing services, ensuring that every child receives the care and support they deserve.

Investigative services include forensic interviews and forensic medical exams, conducted on behalf of law enforcement and child protective services to thoroughly investigate allegations of maltreatment. This crucial step helps ensure the safety and well-being of the children involved. Healing services are a cornerstone of our mission. We provide advocacy services to support victims through the complexities of the criminal justice process. Additionally, we offer five evidence-based mental health therapies designed to help children and families recover from their trauma and rebuild their lives. Prevention education and community outreach are integral parts of our strategy to combat child abuse and neglect. By equipping communities with the knowledge, information, and skills necessary to prevent, reduce, and respond to child abuse, we aim to create a safer, more informed society.
