Welcome to the Family Services Incorporated's 6th Annual Purple Purse.
Purple Purse is a purse auction event to raise money for the Victim Services Program. We hope to see you again this year for another evening of fun, purses, baskets, raffles, friends, and more. The event will be at the Blair County Convention Center, May 17, 2023 6-9 PM, with doors opening at 5pm. Enjoy a buffet dinner, cash bar, emcee Amy Mearkle, and this year’s guest speaker while bidding on your favorite purses!
You won’t want to miss out on this year’s premier, live auction purse (must be present in-person to bid), donated by Hollidaysburg Pools and Spas! You have to see it to believe it!!! Of course, we have all your purse styles covered, featuring purses from Kate Spade, Coach, and more! Trust us, you don’t want to miss these purses!
We hope to see you at the Convention Center on May 17th for the 6th Annual Purple Purse fundraiser. And you could walk away with your dream purse, an awesome basket, or some of the many other prizes!
Your money from the auctions helps to support victims/survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault right here in Blair County. Funds raised during this event help to do the following:
• Serve a total of 1046 Blair County victims and survivors who experienced abuse, assault, or other violent crimes. 198 of them were children.
• Assist with filing 460 final Protection Orders such as PFA’s (Protection From Abuse) helping to keep residents safe from abuse and harm.
Other services provided by the Victim Services Program include:
• Accompaniment to law enforcement and prosecutors if moving through criminal justice system
• Accompaniment in court proceedings
• Accompaniment for medical forensic exams, Rape kits
• Civil legal representation for divorce, custody, support, etc.
• Housing
• Emergency shelter
• Crisis Counseling
• 24/7 Helpline information and referrals
