The Intaglio Drypoint process involves incising an image directly onto a plate with a sharp tool which raises a burr that catches and hold ink creating a soft, rich line. After inking and wiping the plate it is then run through a press onto print-making paper.
Andrea van Voorst van Beest, painter/print-maker living in Pownal and a member of the Peregrine Press, a print-making cooperative in Portland, ME.
Her work is in many collections including The New York Public Library, Portland Museum of Art, Bowdoin College, UNE Art Gallery among others.
