Wendy Bilas is a contemporary impressionist. Her paintings are rendered with loose, expressive brushwork and a focus on the effects of light. Wendy’s passion for the natural world is apparent as she transforms familiar vistas and images into bold interpretations of color, rhythm, and emotion. While inspired by classical impressionists, Wendy uses her own sense of composition and calculated brushstroke to give her work a simplicity and soulfulness all its own. Wendy has degrees from Duke and Wake Forest and works out of her studio in Myers Park. Her collectors range from Seattle to Boston and many points in between, and she is a regular contributor to charity auctions across the country. The Bilas family has been long-time Myers Park residents and include husband Jay, an ESPN commentator, and daughter Tori, also a working artist. Wendy is represented in Charlotte by Sozo Gallery.
