Your support is vital for Lincoln’s community arts center. We provide art experiences to people of all ages, walks of life, artistic abilities, and socio-economic backgrounds:
• Outside of academia, the LUX offers more art classes than any other institution in Nebraska. Our classes enrich individual lives in concrete, direct ways: the creative process relieves stress, encourages creative thinking, boosts self-esteem, and provides a sense of accomplishment. • Our scholarship programs allow low-income youth and families to take reduced-price and free art classes throughout the year.
• Our community art projects, like our LUX murals, enrich our neighborhoods, encourage visitors, and promote economic development.
• Our outreach program to Title One Schools and our Art Academy for youth with disabilities, provide meaningful art experiences and solid role models for at-risk children and youth.
• Our professional exhibitions aim to inspire, inform, and delight visitors with thought-provoking, engaging work.
• And finally, our Artist-in-Residence program brings four new teaching artists to Lincoln each year from around the country, providing the best in arts learning, building community, and creating artwork that enriches and entertains.
