Honoring this year's Father Tom Prag Award Recipient: David Card

David Card has been an integral part of the Escuela de Guadalupe community since its early years and it seems only right that he be honored with the Fr. Tom Prag Award on the school’s 25th anniversary year. David held the role of the first-ever President of Escuela de Guadalupe from 2003 to 2016. Not only was he the first President, but he was also the first person to envision adding a Middle School and Pre-K program. After serving in this role for many years, in 2016 David transitioned to Regis Jesuit High School where he continues to serve the Escuela de Guadalupe community and many of our alumni. David and his family have a history of long-standing support of Catholic education with his children attending Good Shepherd and Regis Jesuit over the years. David has had a significant impact on the Escuela de Guadalupe community, so much so that an award was created in his name after his departure. The David Card Scholar Award is now given to two 8th-grade students every year who exemplify a strong commitment to our five pillar values: diversity, empowerment, community, faith, and excellence.
